Two Words

THANK YOU

My father was a WWII veteran... Though he never went overseas, he was s Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force stationed at MacDill  Air Force Base in Tampa... He was responsible for teaching instrument flying to pilots who did go overseas... I'm sure there were many a pilot that thanked their lucky stars one S. Sergeant Decourcy M. Pollock Jr. taught them to navigate their aircraft when the visibility made it impossible to fly by sight alone...

I've got to admit that I was overcome when I Googled his name and came across this photo...

  1. Bro,

That is amazing what one can find by Googling someone's name.

The thing that frosts my ass, is that Google will make a huge deal out of the most obscure author or the inventor of the Moog synthesizer, but on Memorial Day they display an American Flag so freaking small you damn near need a magnifing glass to see it!

One more thing. I hate to correct you about our father, but he proudly served in the Army Air Corp as there was no Air Force at the time.

Terry Lee and I will be visiting the cemetery this afternoon.

God Bless all of our Veterans on this Memorial Day!

    1. What does the AFF stand for Army Air Force??? How safe is it to go there these days??? Do you need a tale gunner??? I'm a little spooked to go to that cemetary and it has nothing to do with the dead...

  2. Bro,

The only thing you need is a little direction! I will not need a tail gunner, as I will be able to take care of us myself!

We have never had a problem, as I think they are quite spooked of the place!

  3. I know just how proud you must be of your father. Mine served in WWII also. Your father died a relatively young man, but I know you treasure the years you spent with him.
